What's the difference between nautical miles and statute (land) miles? One statute mile is 5280 feet…one nautical mile is 6076.115+ feet. When working with these numbers and converting; multiply 1.15 times land miles to get nautical miles. When going form nautical to statue, divide 1.15 into the nautical miles to get land miles. As a general rule, 7 nautical miles equals 8 land miles. |
